ESC Advances in Science 2023

Trapped re-entry challenges the binary view on cardiac arrhythmias

The conference:

The ESC Congress is the place where cardiologists and researchers of all stages of their career, join forces with colleagues, peers, and their cardiology heroes, to share invaluable data and learn. Creating life-long friendships and connections that enrich knowledge, share experience, and accelerate careers.

The ESC Congress 2023 covers topics across the whole of cardiovascular medicine; on the one hand presenting and discussing the latest scientific findings and on the other, providing in-depth clinical teaching and practice-changing education.

The ESC congress in Amsterdam presented me with an opportunity to speak about my research at the "Novel mechanistic insights in arrhythmias" session on Friday the 25th of August, early in the morning.

My presentation

Personal impression

After completion of the session I was praised for a clear and concise talk, which was understandable for people from all fields present in the room. This talk learned me how to effectively communicate science in a longer format than what I presented up until now. I also noticed that I am slowly becoming better in controlling my nerves when presenting. I truly enjoyed explaining my research and findings.

The revised manuscript for this study was recently also submitted, so let's keep our fingers crossed for a happy ending of this story :) -> It can now be found here.
